Author Guidelines – Contemporary China-Africa Journals (CCAJ)

We’re excited that you’re considering publishing with the Contemporary China-Africa Journals. To help your work make the best possible impression, please read through our guidelines before submitting.

1. What We Publish

We focus on research that deepens understanding of China–Africa relations, touching on topics such as:

  • Politics and international relations

  • Trade and economics

  • Cultural exchange and social change

  • Science, technology, and innovation

  • Education, sustainability, and environmental issues

If your work adds value to the ongoing dialogue between these regions, we’d love to see it.

2. Types of Papers We Accept

We welcome different forms of scholarship, including:

  • Original Research – New studies with clear evidence and analysis.

  • Review Articles – Well-structured summaries of existing research, offering fresh insight.

  • Case Studies – Practical, real-world examples with lessons to share.

  • Theoretical Work – Ideas and frameworks that push the conversation forward.

3. Preparing Your Manuscript

  • Write in clear, consistent English (either British or American spelling).

  • Submit in Word format (.doc or .docx).

  • Use Times New Roman, 12-point font, with 1.5 line spacing.

  • Include a title page with your paper’s title, author names, affiliations, and email address.

  • Add an abstract (150–250 words) and 3–6 keywords.

  • Format references using APA 7th Edition.

4. Our Review Process

Every submission goes through a double-blind peer review, meaning neither authors nor reviewers know each other’s identities. If changes are suggested, we’ll guide you through revisions.

5. Ethics and Integrity

  • Your work should be original and not submitted elsewhere.

  • All sources must be fully cited.

  • Any potential conflicts of interest should be made clear.

6. Open Access Commitment

We believe research should be accessible to everyone, so all articles are freely available online.
